wfview is an open-source amateur-radio utility developed by the wfview project that provides computer-based control of modern Icom transceivers such as the IC-7300, IC-7610, IC-705, IC-R8600 and IC-9700. Released in version 2.11 as the second major milestone, the program replaces the manufacturer’s closed Windows console with a cross-platform client that exposes every front-panel function through an intuitive graphical interface. Operators can adjust frequency, mode, filter bandwidth, RF gain, noise blanker and audio levels in real time, monitor S-meter and spectrum data, store and recall memory channels, or trigger voice/CW keyer memories without touching the radio. Both USB and wired-LAN connections are recognised automatically, allowing a single desktop or laptop to sit anywhere on the home network while the rig remains in the shack; this makes wfview equally attractive for fixed-station contesting, remote field-day sites, and portable operations from a balcony or garden. Because the source code is published under the GPL, advanced users can extend the program with customised macros, integrate it with logging or digital-mode software through virtual serial or audio ports, or even run headless on a Raspberry Pi to create a lightweight gateway for Web-based control. The software belongs to the “Ham Radio” software category and is actively maintained by a small international team that tests each release against current Icom firmware revisions. wfview is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always delivering the latest version and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
